Homeless Gallery event throughout the Copenhagen Photo Celebration


I want to invite you to the Homeless Gallery, an occasion that our collective, Norse Creative , is organizing within the Copenhagen Photo Festival this year.

The idea of the Homeless Gallery was started in Poland in 2001 by Tomek Sikora and Andrzej Świetlik and since then has discovered short-lived homes in greater than 80 nations.

The idea with the Homeless Gallery is to enable all musicians to publicly show their work, which for different factors would or else not make it to public display.

Musicians that can not afford a gallery, musicians that like to experiment, artists who would certainly not assume of showcasing their job to other individuals than family and friends. But likewise for professional musicians that want to show a few of their even more personal tasks.

The event is not curated and open to all artists Everybody can reveal their work, experts, beginners, pupils.

There are no access demands with regards to theme, format or style. The exhibition will show work exclusively based on the artists self-censorship.

This year we expect to host concerning 35 musicians from numerous nations, living primarily in Copenhagen , however additionally coming from London and Amsterdam

The exhibit will open up on Thursday, June 12 th at 20 00 — we will certainly have likewise some live music that day, first it will certainly be UNA VOX — cello duo and afterwards a little bit of gypsy jazz in Django Reinhardt design by Swing Partout triad.

From Friday to Sunday the Gallery will be open from 14 00 till around 22 00 and possibly later!

We have a good schedule of live music for Friday, June 13 th, beginning with yours really as component of the Turkish groove class with our educator Cahit Ece at 15 00 (I’ll get on the guitar though), later on at 17 00 we’ll have Cloos/Lund/S øgaard jazz triad, after that around 20 00– a band called Pierrot le Flou (beautiful music and singing! not to miss out on!!) and there will be a DJ duo at the end of the evening …

Saturday is devoted more to the digital photography– we will have Dmitry Bulkin from London giving an artist talk during the day and then Erik Schrader will join the Gallery with his artist talk and we’ll hear and see also from two travellers about their job in Uganda.

A few other events are planned also, however we’re still in the process on wrapping up the program– it’s our initial event, so please, bare with us!

The Homeless Gallery is organized by KW 3 , a job and cultural residence for the young business owners and musicians, located in Østerbro.
